How do I tell the Windows Firewall to allow Flow data to pass through?

• A: The Windows Firewall by default will not allow flow data to reach the flow collector software. You will need to create an exception rul to allow flow traffic through the firewall. This exception will allow both NetFlow and sFlow inbound traffic to reach the Extreme Flow Collector. Perform these steps at the computer running the Extreme Flow Collector software. • Open Windows Firewall from the Control Panel. • Click the Exceptions tab. • Click the Add Port button. • In the Name field type: NetFlow. In the Port Number field type: 2055. Click the UDP radio button, then click OK. • Perform the same steps for sFlow. In the name field type: sFlow. In the Port Number field type 6343. Click the UDP radio button, then click OK.
