How do i tell the sex of my herman tortoise??
the main way to tell a sex of a tortoise is, look on the underside of the shell if it is flat then it is a female, if it has an indentation then it is male, all males have this indentation so that they don’t fall off when mounting the female. you can also tell bu the tail a female has a shorter more rounded tail than the male, a males tail is longer and thinner than a females. if you go to the tortoise trust web site they will sex a tortoise for you all you have to do is send some photos of the tail and the plastron ( the underside) and they will try to do it for you. i hope this helps you but sexing tortoises is not as hard as it seems.
