How do i tell if my personal watercraft is 2 or 4 stroke?

Yours is definitely a 2 stroke engine. I recommend you run your Polaris PWC with premixed fuel in the fuel tank only. I also recommend you have a PWC tech disable the oil injection system and only run pre-mixed gas. Polaris PWC’s are notorious for lubrication problems and early engine failure issues resulting of the oil injection system. I believe this is partially why Polaris stopped manufacturing them. 4 stroke PWC’s and outboards did not start becoming mainstream until shortly after 2000 I believe. So anything before 2000 should be 2 stroke only for PWC’s. However, if in doubt then read the owner’s manual.
