Via email (preferred): For plant samples, you may send a photograph of the entire plant and a close-up of the problem, flowers or fruits if possible, via email to Mastergardener@broward.org. You may also send a high-quality photograph of any structural or landscape insect pest to the same address, describing what problem it appears to be causing you. A highly trained Master Gardener volunteer will answer your question and email relevant research-based literature within a few days, or contact you and inform you of other information necessary to assist in the diagnosis of your problem and the most “Florida-Friendly” solution. In person: For samples of insects causing structural or landscape damage, you may place them in rubbing alcohol, within a sealed vial or double zip-lock bag, and bring them to the UF-IFAS/Broward County Extension Office, located at 3245 College Ave., Davie, FL 33314-7719, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday (except on holidays).
