How do i store a cake with buttercream icing and fondant?
My mother made our wedding cake with buttercream icing, with fondant totally overlaying the cake. We stored it be wrapping it with saran wrap VERY well,and place it in a safe place at room temperature. Do not put it in the refrigerator. Buttercream icing can safely be kept at room temperature for 2-3 days. Fondant should not be refrigerated. Wait until tomorrow, as late as possible to decorate it to lessen the chance of bleeding.
