How do I stop the dogs fence fighting?
You could try double fencing. Erect another fence 3 feet inside this fence. Or use an underground electric fence 3 ft inside this fence. Or put in t-posts & run 3 or 4 strands of electric fence wire to make a 3-4 ft high fence of sorts 3 ft inside the existing fence. Planting thick shrubs or prickly bushes along the fence is a good idea also. Since this behavior has been going on for a while & plays off the dogs natural chase drive, it will be hard to break. This is actually a behavior I would consider using an electric shock collar to correct. The kind of electric shock collar where you activate it with a remote. You would need to be 100% consistent with it’s use. In other words, not let the dogs out into the yard unless if you were ready, willing & able to correct with the shock collar. It probably wouldn’t take very long if used consistently for the dogs to get it. Then you would need to leave either the collars or a dummy collar on the dogs initially after the training so they thin
