How do I stop the “A newer version of iTunes is available” message from appearing when I open iTunes each time?
On the menu at the top of the iTunes window,, click “Edit.” then click “Preferences.” In the “General” preferences settings, locate the “Check for updates automatically” option. Click to remove the check mark for this option, then click “OK.” Please note: it is a good idea to obtain an iTunes update every month or so, but it is not necessary to receive updates more frequently.
