click on start, then run, then type in ‘msconfig’, then click on the ‘startup’ tab and uncheck all the programs you don’t want to startup

click start run Type MSCONFIG This will show you what programmes are running and allow you to stop them

you’ll also – as well as doing the msconfig bit – want to check your startup folder (Start>Programs>Startup) and delete any unwanted shortcuts (i.e.any programs you dont want to run when you start up your pc) in there.
