How do I stop my neighbour cutting down or pruning a tree?
You should contact: conservation and urban design team. If the tree is protected by a tree preservation order, your neighbour will need consent to carry out any works. If the tree is located in a conservation area, your neighbour will need to give us six weeks notice of any works. We notify immediate neighbours of all tree applications and notifications. Any comments received will be taken into consideration but generally, we cannot reasonably refuse consent for works if a tree is dead, dying or dangerous.
