How do I stop drafty windows? ?
first make sure the storm windows are in the right positions, if you even have them. Yes, the insulating tape will at least stop the drafty air. They come in different widths, so make sure you get one wide enough like 1.5 or 2″ wide. They also sell foam rolls you can look into. If there are wide gaps around the frame, best bet is to seal them with caulk or even windo expanding foam if necessary. Lots of options, depends on what is causing the draft. You can even use that window insulation film that you tape around the whole window, then use a hair dryer to shrink it tight. (I’m not crazy about those).
