How do I start and stop dictation in SpeakPad?

You can either click the microphone to turn it on or use the microphone toggle switch in IBM ViaVoice Options, At Startup tab. Then just say the command “Dictate to SpeakPad”. As soon as SpeakPad comes up, you may start dictating immediately. When you want to stop dictating, simply issue the command “Go to Sleep”. This puts the microphone to sleep so that it does not process any commands or dictation. ViaVoice for Windows is still listening for “Wake Up”, so if you are not going to use the speech product for a long period of time (longer than 15 minutes), we recommend that you turn the microphone off by issuing the command “Microphone Off” or using the microphone toggle switch in the At StartUp tab under ViaVoice options.
