You may sign up for ResNet service and DHCP access anytime after you have initiated your Internet account. All that is required is a valid University of Minnesota Internet ID & password, and some information about your machine. Instructions follow. ResNet registration requires that you read and accept the ResNet User Agreement, which defines the terms for acceptable network usage. DHCP access allows your network device to automatically lease an IP address when you plug into the network. Computers in the residence halls need to be configured to use DHCP to automatically obtain network information. You will also need to register the physical address for your wireless network device, if you wish to access the wireless network at the University.
