How do I shut off my toilet tank valve?
I have seen some newer shut off that are more button styled than a handle styled. If you have one of these look closely because turning the round handle will not shut off the water. On the button it will say push on or off, pull on or off. I can’t recall which way the action works. If you are dealing with one of these be careful as the handle may be glued on only. If it breaks or leaks from here you will have to shut the water to the whole unit to continue working on it. In the condos I have worked in, the first time I have reason to work on a unit I replace them with a old school metal handled shut off valve.
