The figure below depicts a tandem E&M circuit application where the customer requires E&M circuits to be tied “back to back”. The application shown is for type 1 signaling. The card in Mux 1 is configured for Normal E&M mode, the card in Mux 2 is configured for Trunk mode. The T, R, T1, R1 and E&M leads are crossed as depicted in the drawing.
