It’s pretty simple to set up your BlackBerry to synchronize with Outlook.
Sync Outlook with BlackBerry:
First, get out that new BlackBerry of yours along with the USB cable, and CD that came with your cool new phone. Put your CD into your laptop or desktop, and install the BlackBerry desktop manager. ( If you’ve had your phone for awhile, and can’t find that CD you can go to http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/ to install the software.) So here’s where your BlackBerry is put to use. Grab your phone, and the USB cord and plug your phone into the computer. This can be done usually on the front of your tower, or in back. If you’re using a laptop on the outer left or ride hand sides.Time goes by..tick tick tick, what are we waiting on? Well your computer is downloading the drivers for that phone and at the bottom right corner of your screen a little pop up should say something to the effect of “hardware installed successfully” when it’s finished. By this time you should see on your screen the desktop manager. Run this program. Here’s where you want to choose all the things you want to link together. So click on configure. The manager will give you the options of systems you wish to link together. Check mark all that apply for example: Contacts,Calendar,Notes,Tasks. Now it’s going to prompt you to choose how you’d like to synch them, and this is where you choose Outlook. Click OK until you’re back to the original desktop manager screen. Now you’re wanting to synchronize them all to your phone. Check the box by synchronize organizer data, and click synchronize now. Once that’s complete, you’re done! Just a few clicks and you’re Outlook equipped! Enjoy
Synchronizing iPhone with Outlook:
*Keep in mind your Outlook version must be 2003 or 2007 for proper installation.
You’ll want to first connect your iPhone with your computer. Do this by using the USB cable. This will bring up iTunes automatically. Click on help on the top bar at the very end. It will bring a down menu that says check for updates. Click this to double check your version. Now on that same bar as help, click on info. Again a drop down menu will appear that says Sync Outlook Calendar, click on that..and apply.
