How Do I Search for a Windows Live ID?
Windows Live Messenger is an online chat program distributed by Microsoft. Using Windows Live Messenger you can add your friends and family to a contact list and send messages to them when you see that they are online. However, before this can happen, you must search for their Windows Live IDs. Find your friends and family on Windows Live Messenger to add them to your contact list and begin chatting with them online. Launch Windows Live Messenger and sign in. Click the icon above your contact list shaped like the outline of a person with a green plus sign to begin searching for and adding contacts. Click “Search for People.” This command will open a new browser window. If you are not already signed into Windows Live in your Web browser, you will need to enter your user name and password again.
