How do I safely ground patients that I cannot get enough surface area on the MEGA 2000 pad?
If there is insufficient “contact” with the MEGA 2000 system the surgeon may see a diminished effect at the active electrode. Safety is still provided due to the bulk resistivity technology of the pad. If the surgeon does not receive the desired effect at the active electrode you may need to reposition the patient to have more “contact” with the pad, decrease the materials between the patient and pad, or use a disposable gel pad.
