When i-Mail is acting as a mail collection device for GroupWise (or any other SMTP compliant mail server), you will generally not be running the POP and SMTP server components of i-Mail. iMail simply collects the mail from the internet as a POP client and sends mail to the GroupWise server as an SMTP client – no server processes are running. This allows GroupWise to receive messages from i-Mail on the same box. To send mail out to the internet GroupWise should be configure to do this itself, routing all SMTP mail to your ISP SMTP mail server.
