How do I run 1706S Software on a computer with Windows NT, 2000 or XP?
Running 1706S Software under Windows NT, 2000 or XP requires special configuration settings to load the display driver and also to recognize the software protection key on some computers. For computers where the following solution does not work, a DOS/Windows dual-boot setup may be required. 1.Copy the attached files to the directory where 1706S is installed 2.Open the Autoexec.nt file with NOTEPAD and correct the path statement to reflect the directory where 1706S is installed 3.Create a new shortcut, connecting it to any one of the .EXE files in the 1706S directory 4.Right-click on the shortcut to edit its properties 5.On the Program tab, change the Cmd Line program name from the from the exe name to ICONFIG.BAT 6.Click on the Windows NT button and change the Autoexec and Config Filename paths to point to the 1706S directory 7.If the program does not recognize the dongle, edit Autoexec.nt, removing the rem from line containing InitPort.
