How do I rewire an electrical smoke detector?

0

They snap in with three wires generally the back of the smoke detector should have a snap in on it that should be all there is to it. Unless you pulled wire nuts and all loose lol. If you did that then turn the power off and wire nut the white wires together. Then the black tie together. The reds if you have them tie together as well. The smoke detector should have a snap in type plug in and it should take all three wires . IF you have an older type with just two wires then just black to black and white to white and that is what ties to the smoke.
