In order to maintain active status and enjoy the associated benefits, a Certified individual must pay an annual renewal fee of $50 for each specialty (up to a maximum of $100) and maintain ten Continuing Education Units (CEUs) per year. A Certified individual who is not current with renewal fees and maintenance of CEUs is considered to be not current. The annual renewal fee and the CEUs are required commencing with the first year after Certification and each year thereafter. Reinstatement for a Certified individual that has been not current for less than three years, can be accomplished by paying all back fees and submitting CEUs to cover not current years. A Certified individual who has been not current for more than three years will automatically lose that certification and will need to reapply to the certification program as a new candidate.
