Unless your employer specifically notified you that you could retrieve your W-2 online, you cannot. You must contact the employer and tell them that you did not receive it. (If you did not provide them with your current address, they may charge a fee to issue a duplicate one). If you are unable to contact the company or you do not receive one even after contacting them, you can contact the IRS at (800) 829-1040 and report a missing W-2. Be prepared with the last paycheck stub you received in 2008, because you’ll need some information off it.
