How Do I Restore My Icons On An XP Desktop?
Windows XP is a version of the Windows operating system available from Microsoft. It is not uncommon for icons such as “My Computer” and “My Documents” to disappear from the desktop in XP. Not being able to see an icon on the desktop does not mean that you have lost a program or data. Users working with Windows XP Home Edition or Professional can restore removed icons to the desktop with just a few mouse clicks. Right-click on the XP desktop. Select “Properties” from the dropdown menu that appears after you right-click. Click on the “Desktop” tab. Select the “Customize desktop” option. Access the “General” tab. Click on any icons that you wish to restore to the desktop. Click “OK” to confirm your selection.
