Ok 2 questions: 1) What is the model of the laptop i.e. ZD8000 2) Are you trying to reset because it is has a password in the bios? If the answer to the second is yes, then try the password “Dell” that is the back door password for most dell computers, if that does not work give it AC power > and press CTRL + ALT + E, then try powing on. If this does not work then you have to call Dell technical support line at 800-624-9896. Provide the system ID or the Service tag. After verifying information that validates the purchase of unit, tech support would give in the master password. Type in the master password and then hold down the and keys at the same time. This would clear all the passwords. Once in the BIOS you can do a select load system default which will take it back to factory settings.
