How Do I Reprogram a Digital Cable Box?
A digital cable box unscrambles and transfers television signals to a TV. Modern digital boxes are monitored by cable companies, which can process pay-per-view requests, conduct remote troubleshooting and reset the box, if necessary. After a power outage or even a surge in the electrical line, a digital box could lose some of the stored channels or delete special settings, such as wide-screen adjustments for flat-screen television sets.
