How do I repair toilet handles?
Adjust the HandleRemove the toilet lid. For a loose handle, turn clockwise on the nut inside the toilet that connects the handle to the flush lever. This will tighten the handle. Don’t over tighten and risk damage. Turn the nut counterclockwise if the handle seems to stick when you flush. Use an adjustable open end wrench if the nut is too tight to loosen by hand.Replace the HandleTurn the nut behind the handle counterclockwise to loosen it, then remove the handle if, for instance, the plastic flush lever is broken. Remove the flapper chain from the flush lever. If the handle itself is broken, loosen the nut and pull the still-connected flush lever through the hole also. Insert the new lever through the tank hole, placing the new handle against the tank. Install the nut on the flush lever and hand tighten, turning clockwise.
