How do I repair scratched Grenite?
First, check carefully to be sure that the Grenite surface is really scratched. Because Grenite is so hard, what looks like scratches are often the result of the material being ground off of the “scratcher” and left on the Grenite surface. These can be removed with ordinary cleaners. Fine scratches can be repaired with mineral oil or a cleaner type of automotive wax. Apply to a cloth; rub the scratch and surrounding area until removed. Light buffing with very fine wet-dry sandpaper or steel wool will remove scratches and restore the Grenite surface. (Apply carefully! Surface can become mis-matched to other areas by over-sanding!
