This will only work if your garment is made with seams that have been sewn but not reinforced. You maay need help from a friend skilled with the needle: Find some stick-on mending fabric that’s close to the colour of your jacket. Read the instructions to check that the maximum temperature bearable by the jacket is close to that of your mending fabric. Cut a piece of the fabric so that it’ll be about 2″ square with the hole in the middle. (If necessary, check by using a piece of patch over a (very) inside seam amd let it rest awhile Using a stitch-picker, open the seam nearest the hole by unpicking one stitch at a time until you can slide the mending fabric into the position just recommended. Pin it in it place – remember that the sticky side of the fabric should touch the inner side of the coat. When you’re sure about everything, use an iron to hold the sticky fabric in place. (You may need to use a damp towel). Then go back to where you unpicked the side seam and sew them back togethe
