How do I remove wall tiles in a bathroom and prepare the wall for retiling ?
You didn’t say what type of tiles are on the walls. If they are ceramic tiles, you’ll have the use a pry bar and heavy hammer to chip & pry them out (it will be messy, so use a drop cloth to cover up what you don’t want covered with debris.) Make sure the wall behind the tile is mold free & in good condition.
Getting the tile of is the easy part. All of the above will work. The clean up is not so fun though. Be sure to remove all thin-set from the wall, you may have to sand,so you have a smoothe surface to start the new tile on. Wear a mask for all the dust and keep the door closed with the window open (if possible) to keep the dust from going into other rooms.
