get the salt peter stump remover. Let it sit for one year, then drill large (1-1/4) holes all around the top and down into the sides. Pour about 1-1/2 once in each hole and fill with water. Wait about a week or so and fill the holes with kerosene. wait a couple more days and light the stump on fire. It will burn slowly with little to no smoke. The salt peter turns the wood spongy so it soaks up the kerosene. being buried in dirt keeps the fire from burning too large or fast. After a day or so, there will be just ashes and charcoal left. You will have to till the soil and mix in a lot of new soil before you can landscape again.

There is several stump removers on the market that you can get at home improvement store, farm supplies. Apply per directions. Only problem with these are that the finial steps involves burning the stump and you wil have to check with local officials to see if and when you can do this.

I heard you can drill a hole into the stump, pour gasoline into the drilled hole, light it, and it incinerates the stump. That would probably kill your grass though.
