How do I remove the operating window on my storm door (2 lite or 3 Lite doors)?
Lower the operating window roughly half way. Some of our doors include a feature to prevent the sliding window locks from moving in far enough to allow the window to come out. Depending on the model of door, you may have to remove the small plastic “buttons” from the bottom edge of the bottom window frame by prying them out with a screwdriver. For some doors move the on/off switch (may have a red plastic tab on the end), located on the sliding window lock, to the top position. This will allow you to move the window locks further toward the center of the window frame, allowing the window to come out of the door frame. Move the window locks as far as possible to the center of the window frame, move the window out of the door frame (3 or 4 inches – DO NOT MOVE THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW IN TOO FAR AS THIS CAN BREAK THE PINS AT THE TOP CORNERS OF THE WINDOW) and angle the window to one side.
