How do I remove the glove box from a 2001 Volvo S60?
I need to replace the trim around the lock. It appears I need to remove the entire glove box to replace this one piece. I do not want to call Volvo or go to a dealership and both charge for this information. Any help is greatly appreciated. A: 1. Remove soundproof panel underneath (held by 2 screws) – easy 2. Undo gas struts (makes the glove compartment glide open instead of popping out suddenly) – just pull outwards to pop it out of the socket – easy 3. Remove 10 screws (1 on each corner, 2 each top & bottom, 1 on each side) holding the entire glove compartment assembly – easy but can be tricky because on some of the lower bits it may be tricky getting a regular screwsriver in there, you may need a specialist right angle one. 4. Remove 2 connectors (for footwell lighting and glove compartment lighting). Install in reverse order.
