How do I remove the emgine pulley, Yard Machine 17 hp?

0

I own a Yard Machines, 17 hp Lawn Tractor. Model Number: 13AK673G088. It is a 1 cylinder, 42″ cut, 7 speed. It has a B/S engine, Model 42A707. As per the Operators Manual, I removed the rear drive belt from the idler pulley and variable speed pulley. I removed the belt keeper pins from the engine pulley belt guard. Next, I removed the center bolt, lock washer and flat washer at the bottom of the pulley. After doing this the pulley assembly should “drop down” allowing me to remove and replace the belt. No amount of prying allows the pulley to drop down. I do not want to pry (bend) the 3 belt guards when I go to install a new belt. Since I am only one step away, I need some advice. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Harold M. Harold M.
