Craftsman riding lawn mowers can get lots of mowing done quickly. Over time, though, a riding lawn mower can begin to wear out and need repair. Especially prone to wear is the mower deck. The mower deck is constantly adjusted up and down and the center pulley bearing can break if not greased properly. Removing the deck from your Craftsman riding lawn mower takes some time and a few tools, but is definitely a job you can handle in your own garage. Place a block of wood under each side of your mower deck. This is to prevent it from falling to the ground when you unbolt it from the frame. Adjust the deck lever to the lowest setting. This will remove any tension in the chains that attach the deck to the central deck lever adjuster. Use the flathead screwdriver to pry the mower blade belt off of the central pulleys. Unscrew the four bolts and nuts that are attached to each chain at all four corners of the deck. Raise the deck lever to the highest setting. Pull the blocks of wood out from un
