SoakingSoak the silver coins in a container of vinegar, lemon juice, acetone-based polish remover, rubbing alcohol or ammonia. Any of these solutions should effectively remove tarnish. Let the coins soak until you can see that the tarnish has been dislodged. Note that if your silver coin is especially old, tarnish can actually add to its value so you should not clean it.DryingAir dry the silver coins. You can also blot them with a clean, dry cloth. Take care not to rub or polish the silver, as it may scratch the coin’s face, which will devalue your coin.StorageStore the silver coins in specialized sulfur-free envelopes after cleaning to prevent coins from oxidating.

Whatever you do, do NOT use any abrasive concoction (like baking soda) on silver because it will scratch it! Also, do NOT use any process that requires rubbing. Silvermate liquid silver cleaner will make ANY silver look new just by dipping a piece in it and moving the piece back and forth for up to 20 seconds. Rinse the piece off and dry it with a soft towel.  NO ONE will be able to tell that the coin has ever been cleaned!  Check them out for yourself: www.silvermatecompany.com
