How Do I Remove Pen Ink That Exploded In My Dryer?

0

Even the most meticulous housekeeper can miss an ink pen in the laundry. If the pen goes undiscovered after washing, then it moves with the laundry to the dryer where it cannot only shower your dryer drum with ink, but become baked onto the inside surfaces of the dryer. Removing ink from the inside of the dryer requires a fair amount of scrubbing, but it can likely be accomplished with items you already have in your home. Dampen one end of a cleaning rag with rubbing alcohol or WD-40. Scrub the ink stains with the rag until the stains lift. Make sure to clean plastic parts well as they are more porous than the metal drum and hold stains well. Pour 1/2 cup bleach in a quart-size spray bottle and fill the remainder of the bottle with cool water. Shake the bottle to mix the contents. Spray the bleach mixture onto several cleaning rags or two old towels until they are damp with cleaner. Do not saturate the rags or towels. Place the rags or towels in the dryer and run the dryer for 30 minut
