PreparePut on safety gloves and a chemical fume mask to protect against bleach fumes. Wear both throughout the entire process. Wear old clothes that you can throw away. Seal off air and heat vents so that no mold spores are released throughout the home, or work on the furniture outside.CleanRemove bad or excessive mold from wood furniture by stripping the furniture with a chemical stripping agent. Dip a paintbrush into the stripping agent, and paint over the mold. Before the chemical stripping agent dries, lift the mold off with a putty knife. Try not to scrape the mold; simply lift the sections of mold mixed into the stripping agent. Dispose moldy sections by placing them into a plastic garbage bag immediately. Seal the bag closed.SandSand over the sections where mold was removed with an electric sander, taking away a few layers from the grain in the wood so that mold cannot grow back onto the wood furniture. Make sure the surface of the wood is dry before sanding.
