How do I remove mold odors from leather?
To rid the item of the smell and the cause…clean surface w/ leather cleaner. Hang item to dry and to in full sunshine for as many days as possible. In the summer months, I allow all of my leather good to air-out (outside). In the colder months, just let it air outside as much as possible. The odor will come back if mold continues to grow on the item–check both sides of the leather if possible and clean accordingly.
You need to use a product that will eradicate the mould and kill it so that it does not return but that is safe to use on leather. The only product that we know has been tested on leather is Em Clean by LTT which will not damage the leather finish. Do not use febreeze as this is likely to cause damage to the finish on the leather. http://www.LTTsolutions.
