Open the “Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” BoxRight-click on an empty space on the taskbar (any space not occupied by a running program or icon) and select “Properties” from the shortcut menu. Or click the “Start” button to open the Start Menu, go to the “Settings” tab and select “Taskbar and Start Menu”.Remove the Clock from the Taskbar (Optional)Go to the “Taskbar” tab. In the “Notification” section, deselect “Show the Clock”.Remove Icons from the TaskbarClick the “Customize” button on the Taskbar tab. In the current items list, click the item you would like to remove from the taskbar. Click the arrow to the right of the “Behavior” box and select “Always Hide” from the drop-down menu. Repeat this step for any other item you would like to remove from the Windows XP taskbar. Click “OK” to apply your settings.
