Select an epoxy and urethane chemical paint remover rated for epoxy and acceptable for use on the surface from which you are trying to remove the epoxy paint. Place a small amount of the chemical paint remover over the epoxy paint you want to remove. Allow the paint remover to stand for 15 to 30 minutes. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the chemical paint remover to determine the exact amount of time specific to the particular paint remover. After waiting the required amount of time, hand scrape the epoxy paint with a clean flat object, such as a putty knife, careful not to scratch the underlying surface.
