There are various methods – but before trying anything it is important to do a spot test on the vinyl where it won’t be seen if it marks. Leave it for 24 hours to make sure the cleaning method you choose won’t damage your ottoman. Alcohol lightly rubbed onto stain (any kind of spirit) – I even read of someone using their whiskey to clean their lounge of pen marks. WD40 mentions ink removal from most household items as one of the 2000 uses for their product. Hairspray can be used, but it is recommended to spray onto a cloth and then gently rub the stain (rather than spraying sirectly onto the ottoman). Upholstery shampoo for vinyl can be used but may require several applications. It is also useful if you use another method to give the ottoman a good clean with the shampoo to remove any residual solvents.
