Conveyance documents are legal instruments used to transfer ownership in real estate. One of the most common conveyance documents is the Mortgage Deed of Trust. This is signed when you close a mortgage. However, other common conveyance documents are quitclaim deeds and warranty deeds. If you recently exited divorce court and need to remove your ex-husband from the title of your home, you must file a quitclaim deed. In addition, you will need a copy of the divorce agreement. Obtain a blank quitclaim deed. See Resource 1 for a sample quitclaim deed. You must then contact a local notary public to witness, sign and notarize the completed deed.
