How do I recover my Windows XP product key?
The only way I know of to recover the product key is to contact Microsoft. You’ll need proof that you have purchased Windows XP in some way. Did you register your Windows XP via your Mac when you originally installed Parallels? I’m also assuming you are not using Time Machine back up or any other back up solution. If you have, the best way is to recover the Parallels partition. But that would just get you back to the way you were operating without BootCamp. If you ever do get the product key, by the way, you should contact Microsoft again to tell them that you plan to use the same copy of Windows via BootCamp as well as Parallels virtualization. That way they will not detect as if you have it installed on two systems. That gives you the freedom of using Parallels AND BootCamp when needed. Very slick way to work.
