How do I reassemble the tension assembly on an old Montgomery ward sewing machine/?
I believe that if this tensioner is old enough it will be pretty much the same as the diagram on the link I have attached here (page 19). Its for an old Singer tensioner but I don’t believe there will be much difference. I’m a sewing machine tech and I would rather buy a generic replacement for just a few dollars from your local sewing machine dealer (ask to speak to the technician) than try to get these back togeather just right. Not saying you can’t do it though. Good luck to you. If you want to contact me and send a picture of the unit , I bet I can come up with a new replacement.
