How do i quit or log out from a public yahoo chat room?
You can still recieve messages by people becuase your text you typed is still visible in the room for a while until more people post. A person can be IMed from the name in the chat room as well as the chatter’s list. If you leave the chatroom you can restrict your IM’s but you will have to undo this when you go back to the rooms or you will not see anyone typing. If you are not going to be in a chat room, go to Messenger menu (top of YM) and Preferences. Choose the Ignore List category. Now on the right choose the top option to “ignore anyone not on my messenger list,” and click OK. When you go back into the chat rooms do NOT forget to go back into Preferences, Ignore List category and choose the bottom circle, “Ignore only the people below.” And click OK.
