Most ELPA positions are filled at the GS-7 level. To qualify at this level, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in accounting or an accounting major (up to 6 semester hours of business law can be credited towards the 24 semester hours). In addition, candidates must also possess one of the following: • Must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; • Have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on 4 years of education; • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; • Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field; • Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required course
