How do I purchase savings bonds in TreasuryDirect?
NOTE: All Savings Bonds are issued in electronic form; no paper bonds are issued. You may purchase savings bonds by using either Buy Direct or Purchase Express. Buy Direct: • Click the Buy Direct tab at the top of the page. • On the Buy Direct page, choose Savings Bonds and click “Select”. • Under the heading Registration Information, choose the desired registration from the drop-down box. (If the registration you want is not listed, you can create it by clicking “Add New Registration”. Once you’ve created the desired registration, you’ll be brought back to the Buy Direct page where you can choose the registration you just created from the drop-down box.) • Under the heading Purchase Information, choose the Product Type from the drop-down box. • Enter the Purchase Amount (from 25.00 to 5,000.00) (Note: Electronic savings bonds are always purchased at full face value.). • Select a source of funds you wish to debit from the drop-down box.
