How do I purchase a foreclosed home and is it a good idea?

It all depends. What I suggest is this link up with a good realtor if you don’t know of anyone I can assist you with that. No, I’m not a realtor. I’m a mortgage consultant and I have access to alot of contacts who can steer you in the right direction. Besides I’m also an investor and I would hate to see you make the mistakes that most often do thinking that buying a foreclosed property is the sweetest deal since mrs. smith baked pie sale! Personally I would say do a short sale instead of buying a foreclosed home. Too many reasons to list but if you want to know more information simply shoot me an email at mmtrevor@aol.

What Lady02 said. ALWAYS start with talking to the Realtor. Realtors have lists of foreclosed properties. And as a buyer, you do not pay a Realtor (he or she is paid by the seller.) NEVER buy real estate without an agent working for you.
