Sorry, but your radio does not have that feature, which is known as S.A.M.E. When set on ALERT your radio will receive all alert messages broadcast by the NOAA station that you are tuned to. The only fix, unfortunately, is to purchase a set that has the S.A.M.E. feature. Bill B.
