How do I prevent snails entering my aquarium?

Snails are not always a problem, it depends on the kind of fish you have too. My fish would eat the snails, but I had chichlids. They would eat live fish, too. You could leave the plants in one water environment for a few days or a week before putting them in with your fish. I am kind of curious as to where you purchase your plants, a lot of fish stores have the plants that are already cleaned, ready for your aquarium. Usually none of the plants are ever guaranteed to be completely snail free but if you fish eat the plants, so much for the snail eggs, anyways.
